Crowned in Colour, Rooted in Craft
@scarlettandwolfeheadwear Meet Tracey Galt, the creative force behind Scarlett & Wolfe Headwear, and explore how she transforms vintage jewellery and botanical inspiration into hand-painted crowns and headpieces full of story, soul, and sustainable beauty.
A Botanical Vision, Handcrafted in Scotland
Based on the rugged west coast of Scotland, Scarlett & Wolfe Headwear is a bespoke design house creating extraordinary bridal crowns, floral vines, and one-of-a-kind headpieces. Each piece is designed and handcrafted by Tracey Galt, whose artistic process draws deeply on the textures of vintage jewellery, the wild beauty of Scottish landscapes, native flora and fauna, and a thoughtful commitment to sustainability.

I take inspiration from flowers and vintage jewellery to then create unique headpieces for the non-traditional bride. — Tracey Galt

Tracey’s work celebrates individuality, striking a balance between softness and strength through thoughtful shape, expressive colour, and intricate surface detail. Whether designed for a bold bride, a whimsical romantic, or someone seeking a deeply personal piece, each headpiece is layered with meaning and made with intention.
With a mindful approach to making, Tracey incorporates preloved jewellery wherever possible—giving forgotten treasures a new story and a second life.

Every Shade Tells a Story
To add colour, tone, and finish to her work, Tracey often hand-paints her headpieces using Guild Lane’s Jubilee and GILD ranges. These painterly details help transform her designs into something even more expressive—rich in tone, layered in meaning, and tailored for each client.
I love working with Guild Lane Jubilee paints because of their versatility – I mix colours to get just the right shade for my clients and the colours – so many gorgeous shades to choose from for my hand painted botanical vines and headpieces and big plus for me – it's eco-friendly! — Tracey Galt
Each colour is hand-mixed and thoughtfully layered—enhancing the sculptural qualities of her floral details, and giving each headpiece a unique, painterly finish.
Some of the Jubilee and GILD paints Tracey has recently used include:
Jet Black, Natal Rose, Salmon Pink, with hints of Verdigris to create deep contrast and warmth
Soft, romantic blends like Eau de Nil, Pale Primrose, Pale Roundel Blue, and Gainsborough Blue, often lifted with touches of Natal Rose
Earthy botanical tones such as Oxford Ochre, Light Bronze Green, Racing Green, and Pillar Box Red for bold natural elegance
Finished with metallic accents in Champagne, Bronze, or Gold from our GILD collection, adding richness and light-catching drama
Every finish is chosen with care, often layered in ways that feel effortless but are thoughtfully considered—allowing Tracey to bring depth, tone, and timeless beauty to each bespoke piece.
Where Magic Meets Meaning
While Tracey offers a beautifully curated ready-to-wear collection, many of her most striking pieces are made to order—bespoke commissions crafted for women who want something truly personal. Designed in close collaboration with each client, these headpieces are layered with symbolism, colour, and emotion—crafted to be worn, remembered, and treasured.

From hand-sculpted forms to painterly finishes in gilded golds, soft ombré washes, or vibrant botanical palettes, every detail is thoughtfully considered. Tracey works with care and conscience, favouring Guild Lane’s eco-conscious paints and incorporating preloved elements that honour both beauty and sustainability.
