Formulated with advanced water-based acrylic resin technology, it delivers a crystal-clear, non-yellowing finish with exceptional durability and a beautifully even appearance.

Designed for makers, decorators and furniture refinishers who value both performance and aesthetics, Guild Lane Top Coat creates a hardwearing protective layer that resists scratches, weather and daily wear while preserving the beauty of the surface beneath.

Guild Lane Clear Coat Top Coats dry to a durable, crystal clear finish that protects without obscuring colour, texture or decorative detail.

Available in Matt, Satin and Gloss, it allows you to tailor the final sheen of painted furniture, cabinetry, artwork, metallic details and decorative surfaces with care.

Matt creates a soft, velvety low-sheen finish.

Satin offers a refined mid-sheen with gentle lustre.

Gloss delivers the clearest, most reflective finish, ideal for enhancing depth, richness and metallic sheen.

The advanced water-based acrylic formula is non-yellowing, self-levelling, weatherproof and scratch-resistant once fully cured. For our metallic paints Super GILD and GILD, we recommend Gloss to preserve brightness and reflective lustre.

Top Coat Steps Grid

1. Prepare the surface

Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease or residue.

2. Apply the Top Coat

Stir gently before use. Apply using a quality brush, roller or sprayer in thin, even coats. Avoid overworking the product during application.

3. Build protection

One coat provides light protection and an even sheen adjustment. Apply additional coats for greater durability and enhanced protection on high-traffic surfaces. For outdoor use, we recommend a minimum of 2 coats.

4. Allow to cure

Allow sufficient drying time between coats and full curing before exposing surfaces to heavy use or outdoor conditions. Touch dry in approximately 2 hours, Ready for recoating after approximately 9 hours, Full cure achieved in 21 days.
