Bleo Fabric & Porous Surface Paint
A highly pigmented, water-based paint designed to soak into fabric, raw wood and porous surfaces.
Paint That Becomes Part of the Material
- Absorbed, not applied
- Enhances natural texture
- Breathable, living finish
- Durable, long-lasting colour
Bleo is a non-toxic, water-based paint created for those drawn to the quiet honesty of natural materials, where colour enhances rather than conceals.
Designed not to cover, but to become part of the material, it soaks into fabric, raw wood and other porous surfaces, bringing out grain, weave and texture in a way ordinary paints simply cannot.
Made in Britain by Guild Lane and rooted in traditional European paint and dye methods, Bleo offers a calm, tactile way of working, bringing depth, softness and lasting colour to creative projects.
What Makes Bleo Different
Rich, Saturated Colour
Colours remain rich and true over time, maintaining their depth and character across both interior and exterior applications.
Vivid, Lasting Colour
Colours remain rich and true over time, maintaining their depth and character across both interior and exterior applications.
Durable Indoor & Outdoor Use
Once fully cured, Bleo holds its colour and finish outdoors. Absorbing into the material, it helps resist flaking and fading over time.
Developed and Made in the UK
Formulated and produced in Britain using a proprietary process, Bleo reflects a commitment to quality and consistency.
Loved by Creatives
Loved by interior stylists and design-led makers, Bleo brings rich colour to surfaces often overlooked by traditional paint.

Rooted in Heritage.
Designed for Modern Materials.
Its origins lie in the warm, earthy reds of historic timber buildings in Stockholm, where pigment was absorbed into the wood rather than sitting on the surface.
That idea endures. Colour that enhances rather than conceals. Colour that feels as though it has always belonged.
Bleo carries this tradition forward, offering a modern expression of a time-honoured approach to colour and material.
Where Bleo Works Best
Bleo works best on porous, absorbent materials where colour is intended to soak into the surface rather than sit on top. It works beautifully on textiles such as upholstery, clothing and canvas, as well as untreated wood, terracotta, cork and other natural materials.

1. Prepare the surface - Ensure the surface is porous, dry and clean. Lightly sand wood to open the grain if needed.
2. Shake & Apply - On fabric, brush, dab or use a sponge. On wood, apply with a brush.
3. Dilute with water - This is optional for lighter tones or a more translucent Scandinavian wash on wood.
4. Build your layers - Deeper colour is achieved with additional coats.
5. Drying & sealing - Bleo is self-sealing on many porous surfaces and waterproof once fully dry.
100 ml covers approx. 1.5 to 2 m² | 250 ml covers 4 to 6 m²
Coverage depends on surface absorbency, texture and material type. Highly porous or high-pile fabrics (like velvet) may require more paint or additional coats. Lighter shades may also need extra layering for full opacity

The Spirit of Bleo
Bleo is a fabric paint made for more than surface colour. It works by absorbing into fabric, raw wood and other porous materials, enhancing texture, grain and weave rather than covering them.
Inspired by traditional Scandinavian finishes, where pigment became part of the surface itself, Bleo offers a more natural, considered way to use colour. Crafted in Britain by Guild Lane, it brings a tactile, understated finish to furniture, textiles and creative projects.
